dvd r problem

I had a computer crash and lost 60 photos. i had backed them up on a dvd.
problem i have is i can view them on a dvd player to the tv but when i try to view them on my laptop it says disc is empty, anyone have any thoughts how i could view them on computer,

If your laptop cannot read DVD R?+ - then it will show nothing try the disk in another pc.If you can see the photo's you could copy to a pen drive and transfer to your laptop.

Thanks it was recorded on an old computer with windows 2000 but it has long gone .the one i am using now is vista so i will try your suggestion on my sons computer next time i go round..
