    Balloon Makers

I've just started on my sister-in-law's tree and am slowly going cross-eyed

Matilda Weinling marries John Robson in 1877 and her father is registered as Louis Wm. Weinling a Balloon Maker
    - Ancestry.co.uk

At her wedding she is aged 25 (1852)
I have found her in the censuses as follows
1881 aged 39 (1842) and born in Islington (Here she's iving next door to a Weinling family - are they hers?)
1891 aged 46 (1845) and born in Hoxton
1901 aged 46 (1856) and born in Poplar
consistant in these finds in John Robson her husband - a tripe dresser/butcher

My difficulty is attaching her to her own family. I'm tempted by the Weinlings on this 1871 census - Ancestry.co.uk but of course the father's name isn't the same and there's a discrepancy in the age - 14 (1857).
I've had fun investigating Weinlings and balloon manufacture but cannot find any mention of a Louis William of an appropriate age. Can anyone help?
    Many thanks jjj

i think that because you have both eugene and frederick as witness' to her wedding this is a very credible family. yes her age is abit out, but thats nothing compared to the census results is it?

have you found a baptism on LMA for her or any of her family yet??

There are a couple of trees on Ancestry which show her father's name as Casamir Frederick Louis Aloys Weinling or Casimir Frederick Lewis Weinling.
    Might be worth making contact.

Thanks Dark Secretz for your interest - the earlist baptism for the Weinlings on the LMA ancestry is for Robert William in 1851 at St. Pancras (parents Frederick and Ann) They have three children born before that and three/four after so maybe they baptised him because he was unwell (Robert in the 1861 census was aged 8 so possibly not the same one)

Thanks for those reference - I've saved those. I've also sent a message to the tree owner - hope she replies. This tree owner has left a comment saying that the father of the family was quite fluid in his use of first names so I'm thinking positively but still don't want to connect these families til I get a reply. Here's hoping

can't find them on the 1851 yet though..

perhaps their might be something in 'trade directories' on ancestry, though with the looks of that tree I'd be tempted to contact them first
