    Good on you Mick for taking up this wonderful piece of government stupidity !! It just shows how one piece of "politically correct" legislation undermines other legislation.

    I think they have it covered - it does not say it is a true copy of ALL the particulars in the register - "particulars in the Register" if it said all the particularss in the Register, then it would not be a true copy. mind you, I am not a lawyer either.

    My Mother is a JP - how's this for stupid - they cannot certify copies of passports or personal documents are a true copy of the original unless the subject of them is in their presence. I mean what difference does it make - they only certifying that the copies are accurate, not that they refer to the person in their presence.

    My last transcription from Marilyn had the comment on the Register "fathers name crossed out" and the Registrar's comment "particulars given in error, they were not married", so much for leaving off the word "illegitimate", it was never there anyway.
