    Early Norfolk Census pre 1841

Forgive me, Im sure this must be in the WIKI and I forgot or whatever but I just came across census for some villages in Norfolk from the 17th century. Sadly mostly head counts/religion BUT one village in 1801 is Hethersett and I just found my GGFx4 on there with "7 females" - lol. This ties in nicely with the 6 daughters I know of plus I guess his wife. How wonderful.

It might be something to do with firefox (presumably your browser) but i'm in via the 2nd link, as ever the only patches covered that relate to my lot are post 1841

Ooh Heather, thank you so much for that link!!!

I have a John Jarvis, married Cley 1786, moves to Blakeney & dies goodness knows where. One of his sons was Matthew....

In Blakeney in 1770, there's a Matthew & Sarah Jarvis, with a John

Off to hunt up my old notes!

Brilliant. I found it amusing in the 1801 that poor GGFx4 had 7 women in the house with him - can you imagine!

Heather, I once found a will where a man had to leave all his property to his six daughters. Never named one of them. You could feel his fury that he had no son, just six daughters.

Sadly not one of the 7 parishes I am interested in is featured, but thanks anyway Heather.

Did he make it to 1802? If so was he still of sound mind?
