  • Help re 1891 Census

I have found the following family in the 1881 Census
    William Tunnicliffe age 32
    Mary age 26
    Emily age4
    Gertrude age2
    Maria
Born in Staffs living in Burslem staffs.
    Ref RG11 Piece 2712 folio 107 page 10.

My problem is that I cannot trace any of the family in the 1891 Census.
If anybody can find them I would be very grateful

      Hi,

Could he have been married to someone else by 1891? I found a William married to Elizabeth in the 1901 census.

After searching for the parents and not finding them I then started looking for the children individually (just using first names) without a lot of success as they had been transcribed as Ford.
Thinking that mother may have remarried or one or both parents may have died I did a search for any BMD Tunnicfliffes in Staffs between 1881 and 1891 - and a possible marriage for Mary showed up - so searched under Ford and found them all.

I shall certainly remember that way of doing things for the future. I thought I had tried every permutation and possibility!!
              Thanks again Elaine
