  • They must have liked short names...

They must have liked short names! Ada and Amy were twins, as were Joe and Jack.
Joe died aged 1, and Ida died aged 5.
First child born in 1899, last in 1920

    Ada
    Amy
    Eva
    Tom (registered as Thomas Albert)
    Joe
    Jack
    Ida
    Len (registered as Leonard)
    Ina
    Ian R
    Lura

and then to change the trend:

    Geoffrey A

    LOL

    Remembering: Cuthbert Gregory 1889 - 1916, George Arnold Connelly 1886 - 1917, Thomas Lowe Davenport 1890 - 1917, Roland Davenport Farmer 1885 - 1916, William Davenport Sheffield 1879 - 1915, Cuthbert Gregory 1918 - 1944

I suppose they kept them short as they had so many children , it was easier to say/recall them?

But Tom Geoffrey becomes Geoff. So its shorter, but still the longest name.
