They should automatically save as JPEGs.

Then you can open them up in an image viewer of some description. I use the one mentioned above.

But you can use Adobe Photoshop or any other image friendly application.

If you put them in .doc files the quality of the image will be rubbish compared to just printing straight from the image file.

On the 1911 page after you clicked to view the original image, did you then click on download?

It then asks to save or open.

I clicked save. Then it asked where to save.

I then clicked desktop and made sure it was a j.peg file.

Then I went to my desktop and double clicked and it opened. I then clicked print at the bottom of that page.

Ah-hem......I hate to be a misery guts, but we are not allowed to post full census images :(

I'll give you ten minutes to delete them and then I'll have to delete any that remain (just that I'm peeling spuds at the mo.)

Maybe it depends which version of Piccassa you have

When I save images to the hard drive and then open them, they open in a separate window from which it doesn't seem possible to print

Just a quick tip for anyone having trouble opening the saved images. Right click on the image name and choose 'open with' and you will get a list of options.
You can then choose which programme to open your images in.
I tend to use my photo editing software or WIndows Picture Gallery.
