Oh pifle - I can't get that Wikipedia link to come up.
Thanks Pippa - I did get the alphabetical link to work.

Lol No Joan - Chrissie has been off searching - to no avail.
I don't know about Caribbean but I do like the sun

I really don't believe this. I haven't looked for my family for ages as I spent so many years looking for Smiths. I told hubby mine would be a doddle. Never speak too soon, this is the first lot I've looked for

Flippin 'eck - I just got the link to work. No wonder I can't find a marriage for young Lignum Vita. I expect all the young men thought she was too wooden

    Would that be possible Chrissie?

I've just realised what you said Jo. Yes, very possible - I wait on Graham hand and foot

Thanks Pippa - yes, that first one is the young Lignum Vita Bonsall that I found earlier (it looks as though she is my Gt Grandmothers child). That's what led us to Lignavitre or whatever she's called

Perhaps young Lignum was conceived under the tree?

I have a vague feeling that lignum was something to do with fire, so perhaps its that it was used as incence. Maybe her parents liked the smell? Not surprised that her namesake chose to be called Agnes!

Just to add a bit more confusion I have found the birth of a
Ligner Vite Quinton in 1906 Belper reg district & a marriage of Emily Heaps & Thomas Quinton in 1899 Belper. I have found Thomas with wife Emma in
1901, she was born c1875 Derby Town. Do you know who this Emily/Emma was?
Thomas was related to the Quintons that the Heaps family were living with in 1861. It looks like the Quintons were travellers/fairground people so possibly the Heaps were also travellers, they certainly moved around quite a bit.

Oh goodness Moggie - looks like they are related in some way. I think I have my work cut out Thank you so much for all your help - very much appreciated.

Lol Nell - can you tell me what you meant by 'Not surprised that her namesake chose to be called Agnes!' though. Have you seen Lignum calling herself Agnes somewhere?

Thomas Quinton is the grandson of the Quinton's that the Heaps were living with in 1861. In 1891 the mother Hannah Quinton from 1861 is living with her son in the London area.
