No, they don't, as far as I know.
It is widely held that the Irish Holdens are nothing to do with the English ones, but I am not so sure about that, as there is some scanty early mediaeval evidence that a lesser Holden son was given land in Ireland.
They certainly aren't recent relatives though. Thanks for the tip-off - I must get round to this Irish mystery one day.
