    Disc Cleanup won't run

I'll have to log off for a while, will be back later but here is the problem

If i try and run disc cleanup it hangs at the first stage (compressing files).

I'm trying to delete the temp files etc but can't.

It is making my AVG scans take hours and hours (started one yesterday and it is still going after 14 hours!!!!).

Any ideas why disc cleanup won't run properly?

    Cheers

    Thanks Elaine

The file that needs amending in the registry hasn't made any difference i'm afraid.

I stopped the anti-virus scan after 18 hours (it was still going through the temp files etc). Strangely when i used to run a scan the pc would slow down to a crawl but the scan was quick, now it is the other way round but disc cleanup still won't run.

I ran a restore back to December but it is still the same. No disc cleanup and painfully slow virus scan but quick pc performance

You could download CCleaner to get rid of your temporary internet files.
