Kelly, do let us know if you would like us to trace some of those lines further or if that's enough to be going on with! (I'm sure I could get those Baileys back a few decades at least....)

        Evening Kite

your more than welcome to keep going if you don't mind!

I have been putting off doing the Baileys and Smiths for over a year now! Don't like to keep asking for help and I knew I couldn't takle them alone!

Okay then, this is the Bailey family in 1881 and they're even at the same address where they are in 1891.
          RG11; Piece: 1711; Folio: 55A; Page: 36
38 James St, West Ham, Essex
Henry Bailey Head Mar 70 Railway Porter Hertfordsh St Albans
Sarah do Wife Mar 70 Surrey Wandsworth
Robert do Son Mar 37 Brewers lab do New Cross
Ann Bailey Daur in law Mar 38 Middlesex
Robert do Grandson 13 Shop boy Essex Plaistow
Louisa do do daur 11 Scholar do do
Henry do do son 9 do do do
Albert do do son 3 do do do
Frederick do do son 1 do do

Looking very quickly at 1871 they were at 38 James St then too. It doesn't look as though 1871 adds any new information except that Ann's birthplace is "Middlesex London"!

kelly, I'm just sending you an email with some images for the likely Smith line back to 1841 and John W Smith's mother, Isabella Dale's family also back to 1841.

It looks as though the Baileys travelled around a bit when Robert was a boy. In 1851 they are at No 9 Hoop Cottages, Albion St, Hastings, Sussex:
Henry Bailey Head Mar 43 Rail Lab Hertford Watford
Sarah Bailey Wife Mar 41 Wife Surrey Wandsworth
Emma Do Daur U 11 Scholler Do New Cross
Robert Do Son 7 Do Do Do
Louisa Do Daur 3 Kent Tonbridge

Not managed to find them in 1841 although I would think they should be in New Cross, Surrey.

Kite I have just been looking at the 1881 census results you posted do you think the last 4 children belonged to Robert and Ann as Henry and Sarah seem a litte old to have such young children?!?

Ok Dont say it!! Just noticed to do infront of son!
