  • Find name by location in Family Tree Maker 2014

Hi, I am using FTM 2014 and ancestry.com.
Can anyone help with finding a person in my database if I know a location?
I am planning on visiting an area where I have a birth, death or burial but not sure who it is relating to.
rather than going through some 3000 people, if I could search for the town, that would make life easier ;)

    In FTM2014

click on PLACES on the toolbar at the top of the screen (or View-Places).

That opens the Places display with a list of places on the left and a map in the centre. Selecting any of the places in the list will then display the list of people with associated facts for that place on the right of the screen. Click on the + sign next to any of the names, will list the individual facts. Double clicking on the individual fact will open the person screen for the person.

Thanks for your help. It certainly helps narrow my search down.
It turned out to be a 'false alarm' as the person in my list is not where I thought they had died.
