Can anyone decipher the occupation, please?

1851 census for Wombourn, Staffs, HO107, piece 1002, book 17, district 1, folio 11

I am interested in Samuel Worton. He's 5th from the bottom on the right-hand side. Could it say Nailer? Was that even a job?

I haven't even looked at the page, but I lay a fiver it does say nailer! lol

Your clue about "right hand side" led me to the 1841 rather than 1851!!

Yes, it says nailer. I can see some of OH's relatives on the lefthand page! lol

Assuming that a nailer simply made nails, what an utterly thrilling job Still, it makes a change from ag lab.
