  • Who did Ethell marry?

Can anyone work out who Ethell Fleming married in DEC qtr 1839 Newington Surrey please? There are 7 names listed 3 male & 4 female. the men are Wickens Hodge, Charles James Simmonds & William Brown, who I hope is the groom. If so that will tie the marriage in to the discoveries on this thread. http://www.familytreeforum.com/resea...51-please.html. It will also make it likely that Ethell & younger brother James George Fleming, married brother & sister William & Jane Brown.

    Thanks
    Lynn

      Hi,
Re the 1841 census that we spoke of yesterday (shown above) in your other thread. I would say you have found that Ethell Fleming married William Brown. The marriage cert would of course prove it.

I think the missing male may be Samuel Jervis transcribed by Free BMD as 4 3[8 ]1. I checked their image & think that it could be 4 361, but don't have access to ancestry, so maybe someone could check their image for you.

Thanks Linda, it was Margaret noticing William & Ethell on that 1841, which made me wonder what her surname was. I searched ancestry for the marriage of an Ethell c 1839 with a William Brown listed on the same page and the only one I found was for Ethell Fleming.
            Thanks Lyn
Margaret, I am glad that you agree that it looks like they did marry.
