Just returned from a visit to Northern Ireland where my wife's relations were happy for me to scan a few old photos :)

This photo is of my wife's grandmother. It was carried around Europe and Africa during WW2 and suffered accordingly.

This newspaper clipping shows two of my wife's great-aunts as they were in 1938.

The first image is more important to us, but I'd be grateful to any of you who are clever with PhotoShop or some such software if you could work your wonders. The main issue with the newspaper clipping is the annotations - if they could be removed without damaging the rest of the image that'd be great.

Many thanks!
