Footnote: In 1881, after Jane Butcher died?, Charles Foster (her long term lodger) moved to a lodging house at 44a Campbell Rd, Islington, still occupation of a painter.
In 1891, he was a pauper in St Mary Islington Parish Workhouse, a painter, described as widower. He was single status in previous censuses. No online evidence he and Jane married. If her BMD death entry is correct, she retained her surname of Butcher.
