Watching a Vidio on the Computer

When I go to watch a Vidio on a Tutorial site or other sites the sound keeps going and the picture just stops for so long then starts up again for second has anyone any ideas what is the cause very gratfull for any help hope this makes sence .

The video is buffering, ie downloading. The best thing I find is to let it load completely and then play it.
