Can anyone tell me how I am going to be able to read my second Virgin address please?
I have always had two and the second one always appeared with all Windows Mail received from any of my addresses.
Now I can only read the second one on Virgin Web Mail. I have emailed them three times but only get a standard reply that says sorry for the inconvience etc. It should all be working now.
When I go to Tools, the address and all the detail is clear and of course it is OK because it is on Webmail.
I have checked that the address has been imported to drop into my other Windows Mail box and that has been confirmed.

And there is More:
When I go to Tools in Windows Mail I have a new item in the Accounts Box says:
Directory Service
Active Directory: NULL
VeriSign Internet Directory Service
What does all this mean please?

Mine is still broken.

I am worried, Margaret, by the fact that you had an email saying that it should all be okay now!! I am still getting the error thingy, and the box asking me for my user name and password

Have just spoken to Virgin (after waiting an interminable length of time, which suggests that they are inundated with problems), and they said that there are still problems with the authorisation of emails for a great many people, but hope to have it resolved very soon!!

Sally,

Many thanks, I think that the email that I received was an auto reply just to get rid of me if only for a short while.
Have you got the Directory Service lines that I mention? Maybe they have always been there but now that I am going through every possible cause of problem I have noticed them. I will let you know if I am ever up and running again (no I am not in the Olympic's).

Margaret, are we the only ones with Virgin, or are we just the ones who panic?!

I looked for the thing that you have in Outlook Express, but didn't see it so don't know what that is all about.

The email that I had from them yesterday, said that they are currently working with their suppliers to resolve the issue, and hoped to restore service as quickly as possible. Hmmmmmmm, is it just me, or is there an undercurrent of "not sure that we are actually going to be able to mend this" about that line??

Sally, We appear to have got this thread to ourselves. I wonder if they are trying to force us to change our email address to Virgin Media. They said that would never happen but it is not looking good.
Do you have another address I use googlemail and it is very good. I really had it for a special purpose but it has proved useful this last week. If interested and need any help I will send you the detail of how to set it up. The notes were written in a simple straight forward text by John Nihon. I am sure that he will not mind me passing them onto you as they are already on the site.
Good Evening John! don't want you to think that I am talking about you.

Margaret, yes I would be very interested in googlemail, and would be delighted if you could tell me how to do it.

You can join Google mail without any notes; presumably the notes Margaret mentions are the ones for how to tie it in with Outlook Express (or whatever the new version of that is, lol).

http://www.googlemail.com

Just click on where it says "Sign up for Google Mail".

Sally, Following my PM to you a short while ago. I have once again gone through the instructions that Virgin sent me and they worked this time. ( Finger's Crossed).
I had to remove my email addresses and create them again. I hope that they do not update too often.
If I can help you with anything you can always send me a PM.

I know it's no consolation but my email (still with a xxx@ntlworld.com address) has been working perfectly.
