My GG Grandfather was a seaman in the merchant service

He was lost at sea, when his ship Bristol City sunk on it's voyage home from New York in December 1880.

Could anyone tell me where I may be able to find any info on the Bristol City and it's voyage and sinking please.

Many thanks.

Vallee, thank you so much.
There's a great deal of info there, unfortunately, still can't find out why my GG Grandfather died though.

There is quite a bit of info if you google but it seems that ship disappeared and nobody knows what happened to it ? I was trying to find if there is a list of the crew on her ?
Must go to bed will try tomorrow if nobody else has night.
