    URL : http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-1029688...ergen_Marriage
TITLE : WorldVitalRecords.com - Bergen County, New Jersey Marriage Records
DESCRIPTION : Bergen County, New Jersey Marriage Records. From the Everton Library Collection. Copied from the entries as originally made at the court house by the ministers and justices of the peace of the county. Compiled by Mrs. Frances A Westervelt, curator of the Bergen County Historical Society. There is nothing of the spectacular in the presentation of this volume of Bergen County marriages to the public, but in the preservation of these records there is performed a service of value that will increase with the passing years. Nor is the work itself unattended by human interest and even something of the dramatic, for it is an accomplihsment made possible by one who has passed from our midst, an achievement of hands that are stilled. Communities are arranged alphabetically, and marriages thereunder follow in chronological order, with a few minor exceptions, all entries from a single church grouped under the name of the congregation. Entries have been reproduced exactly a!
s made, even when misspellings are obvious.

    TITLE : WorldVitalRecords.com - Marriage Records of Hunterdon County, New Jersey, 1795 - 1875, Volume 1
DESCRIPTION : Marriage Records of Hunterdon County, New Jersey, 1795 - 1875, Volume 1. An index to the marriages recorded in the office of the County Clerk, at Flemington, N. J., compiled by Hiram E. Deats, Recording Secretary and Librarian of the Hunterdon County Historical Society. The first marriage license act in New Jersey requiring license bonds to be filed in the Secretary of State's office was passed in 1719 (although by a previous practice earlier bonds were filed there), and this practically remained the law until 1795, when bonds were no longer required, although some were filed there as late as 1800. After 1975 all records of marriages were to be filed in the Clerk's office of the county wherein marriages were solemnized, and the Hunterdon county records begin with that year. In 1876 the Legislature provided that reports of marriages should be transmitted to boards of health, and, while changes have been made since as to the particular local official to whom the !
records should be sent, there has been no return to the older system of sending them to the County Clerk's office, and hence that sutom more or less ended with 1876.

DESCRIPTION : The Weekly Kansas Chief Births, Marriages, Deaths and Other News Items and Current Events, January 1888 - March 1889. The database is full of names of persons living in Doniphan county over 100 years ago. If your ancestors lived in NE Kansas suring the years 1888-1889 they could very well be in this book, especially if they were married, divorced, bought or traded farms, or had a baby die during this time.

DESCRIPTION : The Weekly Kansas Chief Births, Marriages, Deaths and Other News Items and Current Events, 1890 - 1891. This index contains more than 5,000 names which is made up of lists of school children, teachers and school officers, township officials, Republican lists from each township, and two long lists of marriage licenses from the probate court. Other offerings include district court trials, disposition of cases (including Tribble who murdered Kinkhead in front of the schoolhouse, fled to Missouri, joined the rebel army and in 1890 was seen in Wathena, arrested and held in jail until the trial). Also included are real estate transfers, other lists of interest, births, deaths, social events, and men selling out and moving to western parts of Oklahoma.

    URL : http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-1029688...Vital1872-1875
TITLE : WorldVitalRecords.com - The Weekly Kansas Chief Births, Marriages, Deaths and other News Items and Current Events, January 1872 - December 31 1875
DESCRIPTION : The Weekly Kansas Chief Births, Marriages, Deaths and other News Items and Current Events, January 1872 - December 31 1875. NOTES FROM COMPILERS: When reading the contents of this book which was carefully copied from reels of microfilm, it is our warning to be very aware of the spelling of the many thousand names herein. The Chief's correspondents used different spellings of many of the surnames they were writing about. If the name you seek is not where one might suppose it to be in the index, look further for that particular name. During these years sweet corn was introduced. The Parcel Post was offered and the next year postal cards were offered by the Postal Service. Rural mail was not created in Doniphan County until after 1900. Many of the pages are strewn with accidents of all kinds; many of them fatal.

TITLE : WorldVitalRecords.com - The Weekly Kansas Chief Births, Marriages, Deaths and other News Items and Current Events, January 1881 - March 1886
DESCRIPTION : The Weekly Kansas Chief Births, Marriages, Deaths and other News Items and Current Events, January 1881 - March 1886. NOTE FROM THE COMPILERS: When searching for a particular name, please be aware of the spelling of any surname. The correspondents, in supplying Mr. Miller news of their neighborhood were not too accurate in writing surnames and the printer had no way of knowing any different. In several instances we felt the spelling was wrong, but would almost sound the name when pronounced. Please keep this in mind when searching the index for your ancestor's name.

TITLE : WorldVitalRecords.com - The Weekly Kansas Chief, Births, Deaths, Mariages and other News Items and Current Events, April 1886 - December 1887
DESCRIPTION : The Weekly Kansas Chief, Births, Deaths, Marriages and other News Items and Current Events, April 1886 - December 1887. NOTE FROM THE COMPILERS: You will find, as we did in this weekly paper, stories of adventure in serial form and very good illustrations in serial form, which we mentioned. About mid-year 1887, the editor began printing histories of Civil War battles, complete with the pictures of the generals and officers involved, and detailed maps taking up lots of space. These were left out due to their length. We hope to compile these in a separate book. Another new feature is a list of new books and their authors, some novels and others ot edcuational value. The presidential campaign is warming up to 1888, and the general public is fed up with President Cleveland. Many settled farmers were selling out their land and livestock with full intent to moving to California to partake of the milk and honey. More than a few of the younger generation were getting m!
arried and leaving for one of the remaining terriories in order "to grow up with the country."

DESCRIPTION : White Cloud Kansas Chief Births, Marriages, Deaths and Other News Items and Events from 1857 - 1871. NOTE FROM COMPILERS: When one reads microfilmed weekly newspapers printed over 100 years ago in search of a missing ancestor's birth, death or marriage, it is not very long before the reader finds the news items and events of that day much more interesting.
