  • 1851 look up?

Can anyone find Judith Parker, born about 1833, Hilderstone, Staffs, on the 1851 census please? And is there a Jervis Jabez Parker in the same household, born 1844, also Hilderstone? My Ancestry sub has run out and I'd be ever so grateful if you could help,

    Many thanks,
    Kate x

There is a Judith Parker born 1833, no parish given, living in Longton, Stoke upon Trent, occupation servant.
Head of household is Ralph Steele.

        Thanks Elaine,

That could well be Judith as she's back at home in Hilderstone in 1861 with an illegitimate child, and Judith Parker's in Staffordshire at the time were very few and far between. They were a Dissenting family at one stage hence Judith and Jervis Jabez names.

If it helps, other details on this family:

Thomas Parker, 1801, Hilderstone, father & head, widowed in 1847, remarried 1855. Children possbily still at home in 1851:
        Thomas 1835
        William 1838
        Elizabeth 1840 and
        Jervis 1844.

I've got Jervis mistranscribed on other censuses and own children's baptisms as James, James J, Jesse, J J, James Gaber, Jervis Jabey etc. Thomas sr appears to have been in Hilderstone throughout his life and I can find him on 1841, 1861 and subsequently.

        Cheers,
        Kate x

Not having much luck I am afraid Kate. There are a few Parker children scattered around as servants but I cannot see anything which pulls them together as a family.
Do you have addresses for Thomas in 1841 and 1861?

Looks like High Arms(?), Hilderstone on 1841, and just Hilderstone in 1861, I'm afraid.
