Would this be on Ancestry, or is 1904 too late?
1904 Woolwich - William George Kirk.
The William George Kirk I am looking for was born c1867, son of James.
The only census I can find him in is 1911, and he was a widower:(
Thanks

If you are looking for the certificate in the LMA records, afraid there isn't one.
From freeBMD - June quarter 1904 - it looks as if he married either Beatrice Emily Batemen or Grace Tarling.
The other male listed is James Ridoutt.

Thanks for looking Elaine.
James Ridout & Beatrice were a couple in 1911.
Which leaves Grace to go with William - however, I can't find a death 1904-1911 for a Grace Kirk.
Son Cyril was with William, but according to census there was another surviving child??????
Perhaps he wasn't a widower?
Jay
Hi
Cyril was born December qtr 1904 (Cyril Ronald George) in Woolwich so the 1904 marriage is the likeliest.
Possible 1891 and 1901 entries for William

Thankyou for your interest and input, Carole.
Unfortunately, William the hairdresser is not mine. He and brother Abraham were still hairdressing in London in 1911 - both unmarried.
Mine was in Greenwich in 1911, at the home of his parents, widowed and working as a tourist agent.
Interesting that both men were born in Russia, though, and within 3/4 yrs of each other.
