Finding a tree by member name on ancestry & Genes

  • Finding a tree by member name on ancestry & Genes

    I have made contact with someone, and we nay have a match.
    They have given me there memeber name for Ancestry and Genes, but I cant seem to find them ?
    Is there a way to search by member name ?

    do you have the name of the person in their tree ???

      If you know their Ancestry username, then log into Ancestry, select COLLABORATE from the navigation bar at the top of the page and click on Member Directory.
      Select the Basic Information tab and enter their Ancestry username.
      When you click on the username you should be given a link to their tree, providing it is a public tree.

      I don't know of a way of finding someone on GR using their username. You will have to search the trees and find a common ancestor, and then contact them to request access to their tree.
