To me it looks like Corn M..... possibly Corn Merchant?
Also I have found them on the 1861 census. I cant seem to locate them on the 1851 census.
If anybody can help me find them I would be most greatful.
Danny
Thankyou Pete:)
Hopefully the later census will tell me. I still cant make it out on the 1861.
Im relying on the 1851 but I cant find it.
Danny
Do you have the ref for the 1861?
1851 transcribed as Fairburst
HO107; Piece: 2203; Folio: 98; Page: 16
Occ Retired Flour Dealer so Corn Merchant sounds about right for 1841.
Yep, Its - Class: RG9; Piece: 2791; Folio: 86; Page: 20
Danny
1861 Retired Corn Flour "something"
Do you reckon its dealer as on the 1851 he is a retired flour dealer?
Danny
To be honest the last word could be almost anything. I have tried all sorts of image enhancement but can't make it any clearer.
Cheers for the help Pete. Ive checked his sons occupations and they went on to become Corn Merchants.
