Hello all

Can somebody please take a look at this census and see what you make of Thomas Fairhurst occupation.

Im not to sure what it says.

Class: HO107; Piece 521; Book: 6; Civil Parish: Warrington; County: Lancashire; Enumeration District: 5; Folio: 18; Page: 28; Line: 8; GSU roll: 306907.

To me it looks like Corn M..... possibly Corn Merchant?

Also I have found them on the 1861 census. I cant seem to locate them on the 1851 census.
If anybody can help me find them I would be most greatful.

Hopefully the later census will tell me. I still cant make it out on the 1861.
Im relying on the 1851 but I cant find it.

Occ Retired Flour Dealer so Corn Merchant sounds about right for 1841.

Do you reckon its dealer as on the 1851 he is a retired flour dealer?

To be honest the last word could be almost anything. I have tried all sorts of image enhancement but can't make it any clearer.

Cheers for the help Pete. Ive checked his sons occupations and they went on to become Corn Merchants.
