I wonder if there is a way I can transfer my tree from my FTM 2005 to another relative if they also have FTM 2005 ?

Thanks

:)

Yes, just send them a copy of your file.

Sending the tree in GEDCOM format is the easiest way,

You can send the file with or without notes depending on your preference, the only thing the ged format will not transfer is images (eg photographs, scans of certs, census images etc).

Anyone who receives the file can open it independantly of their other file(s), allowing them to view the contents and compare them to what they may already have. It is possible to have the two files open at the same time and flip from one to the other for comparison and they can also merge the file into their existing tree if they wish.

Thanks Wendy & Glen.

Another daft question, but how do I actually transfer it? Which bit do I need to find & click on? Lol !

:rolleyes::)

First you need to create the gedcom file, Julie did a screenshot guide on the following thread

Once you have the file saved to your computer you send it as an e-mail attachment
