ancestry playing up

Is anyone else having problems with ancestry?

I am trying to seach the 1851 census for all Johns born 1805 +/-1 born Essex, and it is throwing up margarets, ann's, marias and all ages

Whats going on, anyone else having the same thing?

EDIT - I logged out and back in and it is just as bad

Just tried the same search - and getting the same results!
Click on the "male" option - it helps to eliminate some of the names.

Yes...but it only seems to be happening with the 1851.

I tried that, but it doesn't work,

I am getting 915 results each time, no matter what I try:(

But at least its not me

Vikki, I've tried the search criteria you were using and it did the same thing!

I just tried again & I got 915 results, but they are all John!

Thanks for checking Kite - I suppose this family are going to be another thorn in my side
