Re Alice - 1871 census gives her place of birth as Westhougton, Lancashire, which comes under the registration district of Bolton.

Why would I look at Dickenson for Dickinson, if I was looking for someone else and not me?????

Nell.....Daniel Hart died about 1870. I will have to get his death cert to see when he was born. He married Ann Dickinson in 1868, and Alice was born 1870. Alice's mum, Ann is listed as widow in 1871. There is a death in 1870 for a Daniel born 1846, but can't confirm without a cert.
